The day Olivia Brown said yes to the little dog
he spun around chasing his tail with sheer delight! Olivia is renowned
for her ceramic sculptures of dogs, capturing the traits and personalities
of numerous breeds from bassets to bulldogs to terriers.
This quintessential artist drives an old Morris Minor Traveller and
owns a rescue hound called Wolfie who approves of her choice of transport!
Olivia graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1999 with
a first class honours in Contemporary Crafts and has had many solo
exhibitions including Elvis the Whippet’s salon, Bournemouth
Pier - a travelling touring show which celebrates dogs holidaying
in Bournemouth and most recently Operation Jumpsuit, the plight of
500 overworked factory rats and a clan of Scottish terriers whose
traditional jumpsuits designs had been stolen by the evil factory
owning cat Sinclair.
It was whilst browsing her website we discovered her wonderful artwork
and are thrilled to present The Misfits
Collection, a stunning group of designs
with beautifully painted images and layered backgrounds. The Misfits
focuses on Olivia’s favourite animals and those who have been
discarded by society, she highlights the beauty and charms of creatures
that rarely get to enjoy the limelight. Olivia’s work is light
hearted and humorous and yet quietly deals with issues close to her
heart . With this collection the more you look the more you see.
